Brooklyn’s breath got stuck in her throat as he approached her with an amused look on his face. Her eyes widened with apprehension even thinking of what he might be up to in front of the twins. “Nikolas, Bry and Nik are watching, please,” she whispered breathlessly. Nikolas chuckled and walked past her over to the drinks counter, pouring himself some minty drink. Brooklyn’s jaws dropped with astonishment. What was he up to? Was he kissing her or not?
“What? I’ll have to settle with this at the moment. I don’t want you running for the hills leaving those two with me. I can’t handle them at all,” he chuckled. Brooklyn smiled and looked away, but was she really relieved? It would be a lie to say that she didn’t want to be kissed by Nikolas!
