Nikolas saw her sitting in her room with her back towards the door, typing the email on her mobile. He was about to talk to her when his gaze fell upon her feet. They were red, swollen, and wrapped up in bandages. His eyes widened with concern. What could have happened to her feet? He strode into the room and stood by her bed. Before she could react to his presence he just picked up her foot to inspect.
“S-sir, Mr. Ardolf, what are you doing?” She said, looking startled out of her wits. She tried to free her foot from his hold but he didn’t let go.
“How did you get injured, Brooklyn?” he asked, his eyes dark with concern.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I’ll be fine,” she said, trying to set her foot free.
