Nikolas couldn’t believe his ears. Did she really ask him to stay just like she had asked her dream man in her sleepy state? He was too confused, not knowing what to make of it anymore.
His phone buzzed with an incoming call from officer Warner. He walked into the room, ushering Brooklyn too, and closed the door after them. “Yes, officer Warner, tell me. Any news of Freddie Miller?” he asked with a tense expression on his face. Brooklyn stared at him with fear in her eyes.
“Good morning, Mr. Ardolf. We have arrested Freddie Miller and some of his men as they were entering Washington through I-5 N. Three of our officers have been injured in the combat, but nothing serious so far,” he informed, making Brooklyn gasp with horror.
