I don’t know how I found her. Honestly, I don’t even remember making the decision to leave I just moved, pure instinct guiding every step like a predator zeroing in on prey. When I returned from the meeting and saw the house empty, I didn’t panic. Not at first. I told myself maybe she’d gone for a walk. Maybe she needed air. But the silence was too quiet.
