(Jessamine’s POV)
“Oh, come on, Jess,” Aiden sighed desperately, following me toward the kitchen. “Tell me, what’s option four?”
Deborah stopped pouring the banana and apple smoothies into the tall glass and glanced at me. Her arched eyebrows asked me in silence what it was about.
“What’s option four?” Xavier asked, placing another glass on the table. “And why aren’t you ready yet? I thought we’re leaving early today?”
“I’m not telling you the last option,” I smirked, glancing at our puppy.
There was no option four because I had not thought of it yet.
Charlie’s eyes were on me while he chewed the slice of apple they gave him. If dogs talk, he would probably tell them we usually leave at nine or ten in the morning for work. We were supposed to be on our morning walk, but I broke our schedule because Aiden and I spent more time for ourselves.
Deborah wrinkled her nose, turning her head to her sides, then sniffed. “Did you smell that, Hon?”
