Emma and Dr. Sharif were still conversing when an alarm-like sound came from Dr. Sharif's wrist, wearing a bracelet.
"What is it? And the sound from where?" Emma wants to know.
Without giving Emma an answer, doctor Sharif rushed back to the treatment room he had just left. Where else, if not to the room where Abyan is being treated?
Just as the Sharif doctor stepped quickly, Emma followed him, and the doctor seemed to have forgotten to forbid him to enter.
Inside the room, Emma stared in disbelief. Previously he had seen Abyan's condition through a CCTV screen connected to his cellphone. Still, now he saw firsthand how Abyan's body was attached to various cables whose unknown function made Emma unable to think.
