Chapter 6

"What the fuck," Camilla exclaimed, drawing everybody's attention. Camilla looked at Vincenzo, wanting him to oppose his grandfather, but he never did. His entire focus was on Giovanni. The old man always has his way around things. A smirk appeared on Giovanni's lip; he squinted his eyes and smiled at Camilla. "Granddaughter-in-law, is there a problem?" Giovanni asked, daring her to oppose him. She stuttered. "I...I" She punched Vincenzo, and as their gazes met, she winked at him to say something. He only rolled his eyes before responding.

"We will do as you wish," Vincenzo answered, Camilla gasped at his response. Giovanni nodded, and Francesca smirked while Gabriele just stared at them in confusion. Francesca knew what her brother and grandfather were up to. Even if Vincenzo didn't plan this stunt with Giovanni, she knew he would always agree once it involved bringing him and Camilla together. Her brother had been in love with this girl since forever. She remembered the times he would always make excuses to go see Camilla whenever there was a family meeting. But too bad for him, she doesn't remember him. And it's not even his fault.

"That's good then, your little wedding can start," Giovanni said. Vincenzo brought out his hand for Camilla to place hers on top; she glared at him, forgetting for an instant that he was her boss. "I told you my Nonno was a tricky man; you just have to play along like I told you," he muttered to only her hearing. "Between us, this is all a beneficial contracted marriage, no feelings attached; you get what you want, and I get what I want," she reminded, and his expression changed to stone cold. With that, she placed her palm on his mighty ones.

By now, the attention from all the guests was on them. In a few moments, they already exchanged rings and were standing facing each other, with the pastor standing in his position. "Do you, Vincenzo Learondo Torricelli, take Camilla Morris Torricelli as your lawfully wedded wife? In health and sickness?" the pastor asked. "I do," Vincenzo replied, his tone firm and cold.

"Do you, Camilla Morris Torricelli, take Vincenzo Learondo Torricelli as your lawfully wedded husband? In health and wealth?" the pastor asked Camilla. Silence followed; everybody waited patiently for Camilla's answer, but she looked like she wasn't present at the time. Vincenzo squeezed her palm in his palm, and that seemed to revive her. She looked into Vincenzo's eyes; the coldness in them reminded her of the situation at hand. She faked a smile that hardly reached her eyes before answering. "I do," she answered, her tone soft and calm.

"By the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride," the pastor declared. Vincenzo moved forward and held Camilla's face; she moved uncomfortably as he brought his face closer to hers. "Don't think too much about this," he said, and she relaxed. Like that, he claimed her lips into his, kissing her softly. Everybody applauded for them.

"Vincenzo couldn't wait to claim his wife, so he's doing it now," Giovanni joked, and the guests broke into laughter, truly Vincenzo was kissing Camilla like this would be the last time he would be seeing her. She was starting to suffocate, but he wasn't having it; he had lost all of his senses. She raised her arm to his chest and pushed him away gently. "Cenzo, I can't breathe," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sorry, couldn't help myself," he said coldly, like he didn't almost eat her up. She shot him a glare before turning to everyone.

"Cheers to more years and happy matrimony," he said and took his glass from Antonia, the lady behind him, his daughter, the mother of Gabriele. He raised the glass, and everybody raised their glasses too. "Cheers," they all cheered.

NEW YORK, VINCENZO AND CAMILLAS MANSION

The chiming of birds woke sleeping Camilla up; she groaned in her sleep before turning awake, taking in the unfamiliar, soon-to-be familiar environment. She sat down on the bed, cleaning her eyes. Her eyes widened as realization hit her; she was no longer in Italy but back in New York. They came immediately after the party last night, and she had slept off on the plane. Vincenzo must have carried her off the plane to their new shared house. She turned to the nightstand, and her phone was there; she reached out for it. She saw about a hundred missed calls. Her father had called her ten times, her brother Ethan twice, and the rest her mother and Ryder. The thought of Ryder calling her irritates her so much, that she felt like puking. She called Ethan but got no response and decided to call her father; after the first three rings, he answered the call.

"Daddy," she answered.

"My baby, where have you been? I was so worried. Where are you right now? I went to your house, where you used to share with Ryder, but I couldn't find you. Camilla, where on earth are you? I almost had a heart attack looking for you with your brother, thinking something must have happened to you," Harrison said in one breath.

Camilla sighed and chuckled; at least there are people who truly love her - her father and her brother, maybe her mother? "Daddy, I'm fine, okay. Stop worrying yourself; I'll come see you guys later tomorrow," she answered.

"Fine. Camilla, you haven't told me the full detail of what broke your marriage with Ryder. Even if I never approved of him, I just can't bear to see you in pain. And your so-called husband," he complained.

"Daddy, I'll tell you when I come tomorrow, but for now, how have you been? How is Ethan? Hope that brat hasn't been missing school?" she asked, remembering how Ethan used to hate going to school, and she would have to drag him into the car and threaten him with his game so he would go to school.

"He is fine, and as well giving me a headache," Harrison replied, and Camilla laughed. "Alright, I'll talk to you later. Bye, Daddy," she said and ended the call with a smile on her face.

"I'm the only one to be called Daddy."

**UNDERGROUND TORTURE HOUSEVincenzo walked into the torture house wearing a fine tailored suit, with matching pants and fine leather shoes. He advanced towards the two figures chained. With their hands tied above their head to the ceiling, leaving the rest of their body to dangle. Vincenzo stopped in front of them with a grin. His hands were in his pocket as he watched the two disgusting looking figures struggle to keep their eyes open. Antonia chuckled as she tried to open her eyes. She couldn’t even see properly resulting from dehydration, and the room was completely dark aside from the single light bulb that hung above their heads. Her face looked drained of life, her hair was hard as iron and her lips were tearing already. Dried blood rolled from the side of her face down to her shoulder, where there was a long open cut. Even her shirt was completely off leaving her upper body bare. Underneath, her pants were completely off leaving her with just her panties. A big gap was b

Chapter 90Camilla sat in the back seat with Vincenzo sitting beside her. Her hands on her baby bump, her mind had gone **away** as she stared into space. Vincenzo didn’t seem to notice; he was on his phone, probably thinking of a better way to kill Antonia and Vivian. Camilla snapped out of her thoughts. She spared Vincenzo a glance, then turned to the window. She watched people going about their daily **lives**, her gaze **sweeping** along the familiar neighborhood. This was where she used to **live** with Ryder, and Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins also lived as their **neighbors**. A sad smile appeared on her lips. What a small **world** it is. If it was months ago and someone told her that her life would turn out like this—and that Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins, her own **neighbors**, were her biological parents—she would have called the person a big fat liar. Although she still wasn’t ready to meet her parents, she didn’t want to trouble Vincenzo with **these** issues. Camilla heaved deeply. W
