I feel so exhausted when I get home and the only thing on my mind is going straight to bed. I dismissed Boris to his quarters along with my other guards who arrived with me.
I don't go straight to my room, I go to Annika’s. I should see her first. I knock lightly on her door that's slightly open. “Anushka,” I call, pushing my head through the small opening at the entrance of the door.
The moment Annika hears my voice, she drops the book that she’s reading as she excitedly jumps down from the bed. “Papa.” She calls excitedly and I open the door fully, going into her room.
“How are you, princess?” I lift her off the ground and she happily wraps her little hands around my neck.
“I'm fine papa. I missed you so much. Milana said you left early today. I didn't see you during breakfast.”
“I'm so sorry, Anushka. I didn't want to disturb your sleep. Work came up, but I'm not leaving early tomorrow. I will make your favourite breakfast and will feed you as well.” That excites her so
