That afternoon, Evelyn had just finished a meeting with the management team of one of William’s companies. The towering office building stood as clear evidence that her life was beginning to change.
She wore an elegant white blouse and a black pencil skirt that accentuated her authority. Carrying a stack of files in her hand, she stepped out of the meeting room toward the lobby.

Julian quickly approached, his tone sharp. “So this is why you’ve been avoiding me? Because you’re too busy having an affair with William?”
Evelyn stared at him coldly. “What are you talking about? I work here. If you’re only here to cause a scene, you can leave.”
Julian let out a sarcastic laugh. “You think I’m stupid? Everyone knows you’re close to William. You think I don’t know how you suddenly got connections and money?”
