The sky had begun to darken as Julian stepped into his house. With brisk steps and a tense expression, he swung open the door to the luxurious home and threw his suit jacket onto the sofa.
The door slammed shut behind him, the sound echoing through the entire house.
Selena, who had been sitting in the living room with a pregnancy magazine in her hands, turned in surprise.
“Julian? What was that all about?” she asked sharply. “You just got home and already throwing things around?”
Julian didn’t answer. He walked straight to the kitchen, opened the fridge, grabbed a bottle of cold water, and drank it all in one gulp. But the fury on his face didn’t fade one bit.
“Julian!” Selena called again, now standing and walking toward him. “What’s wrong with you? You've been irritable since the office.”
Julian rubbed his face with both hands, then turned to face her. “I can’t stand the sight of William. Acting like some damn hero, some protector, as if he’s the most perfect man on earth!”
