Summer's Point of View
I took deep breaths and tried to push away the sting of what I had seen. I watched as Hailey moved closer to Steven, her lips turned up into a sly smirk, before she whispered something in his ear.
“What are they whispering about?” I couldn't help but asked myself.
Steven pulled Amby to the backseat of the car, and the seriousness of their conversation was evident in the deep frown on their faces.
With a gentle lurch, the car started moving away from the parking space.
“Where are they going?” I squinted and peered around, searching for a cab, but the silence of the exclusive, wealthy clubhouse made it difficult to find one.
I almost ran in panic, my stomach churning with fear as I recalled what Hailey had told Steven - that Amby had gotten into an accident.
She needed to be taken to the hospital, so I knew Steven would take her to the hospital with its grand entrance and expensive services.
