I have never been more unsettled in my life… well, except a few times— once or twice, and they all had to do with Jessie.
I glanced at my wristwatch repeatedly, thinking, worrying about her.
I caught myself repeatedly wondering if I was a bit much with the kiss. But damn… I couldn’t help myself. Just like that night.
It was almost midnight and I was losing patience.
“I should gone after her,” I murmured, regretting that I allowed her leave.
Uneasy, I finally decided to call and she wouldn’t pick up.
I was just about to go in search of her when my phone rang unexpectedly.
At first, I thought it was her. I wanted it to be her.
But it wasn’t, it was the specialists.
Me: Hello, Doctor Hophni.
Doctor Hophni: I’m afraid, Mr. Pierre, we might have to cancel our appointment tomorrow.
“What?!” I exclaimed, my head spinning in all directions. “Why? Look, someone’s life depends on this. She’s precious… I can’t… what can I do? I can’t disappoint her please.”
