Chapter 42: In love
“Can you let me go now?” I snapped, yanking my hands out of Louis’ grip as we finally arrived at our destination.
He didn’t say a word—just released my hands, exactly as I’d asked.
“Just say whatever you need to say so I can leave,” I added, irritation creeping into my voice.
“We’ve already been caught by that big mouth, Emma,” I muttered, glancing around nervously. “I’m scared she might tell someone, and I don’t want to get dragged into this mess again. So hurry up, say what you have to say, and let me go.”
I looked around too, making sure no one was nearby—or worse, eavesdropping on us.
“How do you expect me to talk if you won’t stop ranting?” he finally snapped. “You’ll have to be quiet if you want to hear anything.”
He was clearly pissed off, and that’s when I realized I’d pushed too far. I’d been complaining too much, so I decided to keep calm—for now.
