Chapter 41: Let’s be friends

Anna POV….

I watched Damien drive out of the house from the window and sighed deeply.

I wondered where he was always going these days. He was barely ever home, but that was none of my business—at least he was making things easier for me.

I made sure the gateman locked the gate before I pulled away from the window. Now, I just needed to find Louis and ask him why Damien could no longer hear my thoughts. I was certain he knew why.

I looked around. Now the problem was: how do I go to his door and knock? Everyone was already suspecting we had something going on, and if I was seen in his room, it would definitely raise concerns.

So how do I ask him this question? I needed to do it before Damien came back, and at the same time, I couldn’t risk being seen by anyone.

I scratched my head in frustration.

“What do I do? What exactly do I do now?” I had no clue.
