Amaro picked up the ball that was rolling away from his son. He approached him and gave the ball.
"Thank you," his son smiled at him.
"Son, come hear I am your dad" Amaro said, he squatted and his arms wide open waiting for his son to hug him but he didn't budge but only looked at Amaro.
"Daddy?" The boy was puzzled, Amaro hugged him, but his son freed himself from his embrace and ran towards the house.
Kashmir came out from the house and saw her son running towards her. "Son, what are you up to there?" asked Kashmir. "
Mommy, that man told me he's my daddy." the child pointed to Amaro.
Kashmir looked towards Amaro's direction and their eyes locked for a few seconds, then Kashmir looked back at her son.
"No, he isn't your dad. Your dad is inside." Just as Kashmir finished speaking a man came out from the house.
Amaro was staggered, he couldn't believe what Kashmir had just told their son.
