Liam stumbled through the beach house, the alcohol coursing through his veins making every step feel unsteady. He knew he shouldn’t be going to Isla's room, but the thought of Isla alone in her room, upset and drowning her sorrows in wine, gnawed at him. He had to check on her, to make sure she was okay.
He approached her door, knocking softly, but there was no response. “Isla?” he called out, his voice slightly slurred. When silence greeted him, he took a deep breath and pushed the door open, finding it unlocked.
The sight that greeted him was unexpected. Isla sat on the edge of her bed, a half-empty wine bottle in her hand, her cheeks flushed and her eyes glassy. She looked up at him, a smirk playing on her lips. “Great! The greatest Alpha of all time is here,” she declared, her words slightly slurred.
