No matter how long I waited, he remained deathly silent. I gnawed at my lip.
“He did not lie to you at all,” his eyes appeared to have opened the gates of remorse. “It's the truth, Betaji.”
After what felt like hours, he finally responded. Goosebumps pricked my skin. It was indeed not the first time I had inkling about what he just confirmed, but it still came as a shock when I was somewhere hoping it wouldn't be as certain as people around me made it.
My mind was clouded with thoughts again. Thoughts that had me feeling completely ruined. In that minute, the ominous feeling came into light when I realised it was that feeling I was trying to ignore.
