CLARA'S POV
I got into his office and heard him close the door behind me. His menial excuse as to the reason why he had called me sounds filial. I could only do little to keep from laughing out loud at it. The professor seemed pretty much a decent man and lying I would say is not one of his strengths.
I was just carrying one box but he hurried over to assist me, leaving the assistant who had the piles.
"I got it." He said to me,
"No need. Just tell me where to put it." I said to him, Not wanting to make it obvious, I looked at him weirdly.
He raised a questioning eyebrow, as if he was asking me 'what?'
Only now did I nudge my head towards the assistant who was struggling to put down his boxes. He followed my eyes and noticed immediately what I was trying to show him. Clearly, he had not actually thought about it as he rushed over to the assistant.
"Let me get that." He said to him,
"I can handle it, Professor." The assistant said.
Nevertheless, he did nothing to stop Professor Derrick
