The silence in my condo was deafening.
It had only been a few hours since I dropped Kaze and Yvon back home, and yet the echo of their laughter — her laughter — still lingered in every corner of my head. The memory of Kaze chasing the waves, his small feet kicking the sand, Yvon’s gentle eyes following him, and the wind brushing through her dark hair—all of it kept looping in my mind like an old film I never wanted to end.
"How come I never noticed how beautiful her smile was before?" I whispered the question to myself. But then, a bitter smile curved in my lips. "Maybe it was because she never smiled genuinely during the time she was with me."
