Harper’s POV
“Is everything going alright? Are you having any trouble?” I ask my assistant as I change into fresh clothes.
“The clinic is running smoothly, but if you’re not coming back, you’ll have to either close it down or sell it to someone else,” she says, a shuffling sound coming from her end of the phone.
“I know,” I say, buttoning my jeans. “I’ll have a definite answer for you in the next few days.”
Currently, she’s running the clinic, but she’s right. I won’t be able to keep it in operation if I stay here and become the pack’s healer. The clinic wouldn’t thrive without the main doctor on the property.
Sighing, I take a seat on the edge of the bed and flop back to stare at the ceiling. Even though I woke up less than two hours ago, my energy is already starting to wane, and my body is beginning to grow weak.
