“Just defeat you?” I raised a brow, looking at Benny, who nodded his head.
He is still quite confident I will have to give him that. Everyone seemed so eager to hear my response but I must think it through.
A smile on his face as he said, “If you win, we will follow you to the end and never go back on our word!” he reaffirmed as I sighed heavily.
“Why should you challenge her when it was the King himself who appointed her captain for the warning about the crescent pack?” Joshua stepped up again, trying to defend me, but I did not need another man trying to stand up for me.
“Exactly. How do we know it is the king and not Alpha Lucius doing her favours?” Benney asked,
He was questioning Lucius’s integrity? The man would never compromise for anything. Why would he suggest something like that?
