“What’s wrong?” Joshua asked me hours later as we went to the ground for our last update. People were slowly leaving the camp. Tents were coming down and people were busy packing their things. “I am thinking of what to write to their families,” I said to him, and he turned his head towards me. “Do you have to write to them? You can just send them back their belongings” he says to me as I shake my head. My father would be furious just hearing him say that.
When my father was commander, He always made sure he walked around every house for days to offer his condolences.
“How does he do it?” I jerked my head towards Lucius.
“Him? Not sure. The last time I checked, he said they were gone. We move on,” Joshua says, but I refuse to believe that.
