Katrina’s Point of View
“Are you ready?” Josuha asked me two days later as I swallowed hard. Looking ahead of me, we were close to the camp, and I was not sure I wanted to be back.
Lucius and the other men arrived a few days ago, but I still do not know who we lost.
“Kat!” Gerald shouted as he came closer to where I was with Joshua. I looked over my shoulder as he approached.

“The men just advised about Theo” he says to me and instantly that grabs my attention because for two days we had been looking for him.
“Is he back in camp?” I asked him, and the look on his face told me everything I needed to know.
I exhale heavily, shaking my head. I have not broken down in days. Even when I went back to bury Thelma, I wanted to bring her back, but her body was almost decomposing, so I had to bury her in a foreign land.
