Veena woke up finding herself in an unfamiliar room. Where is she? The last time she remembered was fainting from Ashley’s constant attacks. She can still feel the body pains that she received from every blow. The bright sunlight was glowing on to her. She must’ve slept for a long time.
“How are you feeling?” she looked up to see the man who helped her last night. It was Lois.
“I can still feel the body pains.” she answered hoarsely. He offered her a drink and she thanked him, drowning it down to give moisture to her dry throat.
“The Harrisons bailed her out. Do you want to press charges on her?” he asked.
“No. Going against them is useless.” She replied. “I’m sorry but are you Aloysius Rossenov?.”
“Yes, Lois is my nickname.” he answered.
Lois noticed her uneasiness and he wanted to reassure her that he is not a threat. Abby barged into the room and apologized right away for disturbing them.
“Miss Harrison, are you alright?” Abby asked.
She looked over to the man who helped her. Soon the tension in her body relaxed. He seems to be a good guy. However she didn’t want to trouble him when he was in the middle of a meeting.
“I'm good, Abby.” she answered then stood up from the bed and faced Lois. “Thank you for helping me I appreciate it. If only I can pay you back.”
He took out a card with his number on it. “You will repay me back tomorrow at the Civil Affair office.”
"What are we going to do at the Civil Affairs? Can you tell me some information or anything that is expected to do there?"
"You will know soon, Veena." Lois smiled.
He left the apartment and Veena lied down, resting.
The news of the scandalous fight was plastered everywhere. She read an article from a famous gossip magazine. Thankfully most of them weren’t biased and questioned Ashley’s outrageous actions.
Veena was disappointed of Ashley. As the CEO of Fontana she is also risking the the company's reputation. Who would want to do business with an unstable and crazy leader?
Her phone rang and she rolled her eyes when Helen called. What is it now?
“Veena! I demand you to apologize to Ashley right now and clear her name!"
Her eyes were brewing in anger. There is no way she’s going to do that.
“I’m sorry you got the wrong person. Please don’t ever disturb me again. I refuse to be Ashley's mentor and if she won't get her self straight then Fontana will burn in her hands. Also don’t meddle into my affairs or demand something from me.”
"Oh in addition to that, I’ll be entering the fashion industry again. Let’s see if Ashley can beat me.” She added.
“What the!? You promised not to do anything!” Helen growled angrily.
“I never promised anything, Helen. You only told me to never take back Fontana and I followed through. If I can’t have my Fontana then I’ll just make another company to compete with Fontana.”
She stared at her phone blankly when Helen suddenly ended the call.
She’s been idling around for a while and decided to do something about her plans. The plans to make Fontana fall to the brink. Before she could do that doing some research is a must.
“Abby!” she called out. The assistant came in immediately.
“How can I help you, Miss Harrison?”
“I want to go to Bayfair.” Abby was startled from her request.
"But your injuries..."
"It doesn't hurt anymore. Please, I really want to go." Veena begged.
“I-I should ask my boss about it or Felix.” Just in time Felix arrived carrying few bags.
“Good day, Miss Harrison. My boss bought you some clothes and he won’t be accepting any complaints.” Felix said.
“That man…will he ever stop?” she frowned. “Can I go to Bayfair, Felix?” Veena asked.
“Sure. Just be careful that place is a bit too far from Geneva. Keep Abby by your side just in case your injury gets worse.”
Veena nodded to Abby.
“Thank you, I’ll take care of Veena well.” Abby said. She nodded slightly to Felix and he gave her a small smile. A smile that made her blush like a teenager.
Veena was smiling like a cheshire cat to Abby. She saw the way the two looked at each other a while ago. Should she do some match making magic between them?
Once Felix left the apartment she turned to her assistant.
"What do you think of Felix?" she asked.
Abby stiffened from the question. The assistant did not expect that at all. "He's ah...handsome...smart...and hardworking?" she replied.
"Do you like him?"
"W-What? N-No we’re not close, Miss Harrison...I-I mean Veena."
“Oh really?” Veena teased her assistant. Abby is a brunette with her hair cut up in a bob. The woman is slightly taller than her and has a curvy body. She is pretty attractive.
Abby blushed like a tomato. Veena caught her being attracted towards Felix. She should be careful from now on her lady boss got the eyes of a hawk.
"I grew up with Felix since I was still a young girl. We have never been close until now. All we talk about is business stuff. He is dedicated to our boss and soon will be dedicated to you." Abby said.
"Dedicated to me?" Veena was confused.
"You will know tomorrow."
Veena did not question further. These people are always telling her to expect something tomorrow, at the Civil Affairs office.
As Veena entered the car her phone vibrated. It was a message from the Lois. A wide smile formed on her lips and her eyes sparkled with naughtiness.
“Be careful and have fun.”
Ashley laughed as she watched the protesters causing trouble in front of the Fontana building. Her plan worked and this is enough to destroy her sister's reputation!A company with an unhealthy working environment is the greatest embarrassment a business could ever wish for!Her phone rang and it was Stephen. "Hey, honey! I miss you so much, why did you call me? Is there something wrong? Are there issues with the wedding preparations!?" Her once bitter voice suddenly turned sweet. "What have you done now!? Grandpa is now angry because you used the Sullivan's resources to cause trouble at Fontana! Get back here now and face grandpa!" Stephen's boisterous and furious voice made her shiver with fear. She didn't think that she'll be caught too soon! That old man is really vicious and his watchful eyes is troublesome. None of the Sullivan's have high regards towards her. Making her fall short from the family's favor. But Stephen's father gave her an offer. That is to do something signif
Lois winced as Veena tended to his wounds. She was frowning all the time and hasn’t spoken a single word to her husband since the fight. She brought him immediately to the hospital and the doctor told her he needed a week of bed rest due to small broken ribs.“Love…” Lois whispered, wanting to hold her hand. But she moved away and avoided his touch. Placing the items she used to redress his wounds on a tray. She volunteered to dress his wounds instead of bothering the nurses. "Talk to me." he begged. She turned away from him at the same time someone knocked on the door. It must be the food she ordered. After thanking Felix for delivering the food, she arranged the bed tray first. Lois was silently watching her, following her every move. Soon, Lois became annoyed and pushed the bed tray out of his way. He grabbed his wife's arm, making Veena lose balance. She squeaked from the sudden surprise and fell into her husband's arms. "What are you doing? I nearly spilled the rice porridge
"Mrs. Rossenov, Ashley is outside demanding to see you," Abby reported to Veena. It is early in the morning and the pregnancy is making her emotions go everywhere and the symptoms sent her frequent visits to the toilet. The news of Ashley's arrival just ruined her peaceful breakfast. "Madam! She was able to barge through the gates with the Sullivan's security force." "Veena! Open this f*cking door right now!" Ashley's raging shout can be heard outside. Veena placed down her cup. Feeling annoyed of the disturbance. "Give her a warm welcome for me, Abby. Let my husband know of Ashley's visit." After giving instructions to Abby. Veena went to the bathroom behind the kitchen to freshen up. Her weary and sick-filled face will make her look weak in front of that screaming banshee. "Where is that b*tch!? She's so tough challenging me publicly but won't face me right now!?" The ear piercing shout rang once again. "Gosh, there is no need for you to scream like a freaking dying banshee! I
The news has spread throughout Geneva and quickly climbed into the ears of the wealthy socialites.Meanwhile, Ashley was busy talking to her wedding planner and picking the flowers for her wedding. The well-dressed who came along with her were socialites and good at buttering up to Ashley. They were whispering to one another while constantly glancing at Ashley. She noticed this and wasn't happy of their backstabbing. Slamming her hands on the table, the three socialites jumped from the sudden bang."What are you guys whispering about? Are you planning something that will ruin my wedding?"The women shook their heads and expertly caressed Ashley's ego."Oh no, of course not Ashley. We would never ever try to do something like that. Your wedding will be the biggest and grandest of all time!" The blonde socialite replied."We were talking about the latest gossip in the city. And we're not quite sure if it is about you." says the brunette."It is all over the news! Here let us show you."
I marched straight into Fontana first to oversee the issues. A lot of employees were rioting outside the company and throwing spoiled food, rocks and whatever objects in their hands on the company's building. Abby was able to contact the police immediately once she received the news of the riot. The police were trying their best to calm down and apprehend violent employees. "There she is! The witch who destroyed our jobs!" A man shouted and pointed at Veena. The crowd became agitated and nearly broke through the line of policemen. Insults and curses were thrown towards Veena and she was not affected by them. It is for the best to remain calm and assess the situation especially with her pregnancy. "The board room is ready, madam. The shareholders are unsatisfied by this news." Abby reported."Alright, I'm ready to face those stupid old men anyway. Let's see which one of them is the culprit." Ever since her return to Fontana and gaining control nearly 70% of the company's operation
Breakfast in the Rossenov house was eerily quiet, tense and awkward. Only the sound of cutleries echoed in the dining hall. The food was delicious but the presence of Edwin dampened Veena and Lois' mood. Ever since Edwin's declaration of claiming the Rossenov empire, Lois' resentment to his father grew even deeper. Now, her husband kept himself distracted by peeling shrimps and placing them on her filled plate.Emmon noticed the tense atmosphere and cleared his throat, facing Dianne. "Tell us more about you Miss Dianne, other than being my son's fiance of course."Dianne was surprised for being put on the spot early in the morning. "My mother's side is from an aristocratic family, the Emersons from up north in the Haven City. My father is a Valence and used to live here in Geneva before falling in love with mom and transferred to Haven City. We ran a hotel empire back home and been running it for years." She shared without giving too much information.Veena stopped stabbing on her fo
