A lot of things have happened tonight, but Eliza speaking to Giancarlo in that tone was not one I expected. The whole table turned towards her, completely shocked by her outbursts.
“Excuse me?” Giancarlo was just as shocked as everybody, too shocked to think of proper words to say.
“You heard me, you are not going anywhere with my sister.”
“Eliza…” I tried to talk to her, but my father beat me to it.
“Elizabeth, what's wrong? Why would you say something like that to your sister's fiancé?”
Yeah right, fiancé indeed…
“Dad, it just doesn't make sense to me. Don't you smell anything fishy? Even Claire and his best friend here didn't know the trip was happening?”
