We all run as fast as we can, with Jessica trailing behind. I can’t believe I was so stupid. I knew there was someone there. She is fast. I don’t know why I didn’t think that would be the case, but she is. She has proven to be more capable than I expected. I just hope it isn’t going to cost me. Cost us.
We weave through the bushes as I make sure Megan and Gemma are up front. The warm stuff air is making this harder. Seriously, why is it so hot? I am covered in sweat from head to toe. I would be dripping if these leggings and sports bra weren’t so absorbant. I guess if she reaches for my arm, then I can probably shuck her off of me as my skin is so slippery.
I don’t look back at hearing her behind me. For a moment, I consider reaching for my dagger to help defend myself. I don’t want to impale her … I’ve never stabbed anyone before. As we run further, I can feel a slight pain on my ass that I don’t understand. Not that I can worry about that now.
