He finally glanced at me, a flicker of something dark and unreadable in his grey eyes before his expression shuttered again. “People believe what they want to believe, Novah. Especially about omegas.” He stated it like a simple fact, like commenting on the weather. There was no offer of reassurance, no hint he might contradict whatever Loveth was saying. Just cold pragmatism. “Keep your head down. Do your work. Ignore it.”
