Ryder's POV
My brows scrunched in confusion as I watched Liya yell at all three of us to get away from her. She was distraught, tears streaming down her face as she launched herself in the opposite direction. I was even more confused.
Why?
I did not understand why she was so intent on pushing us away from her. Hadn't we done enough? We had saved her for fucks sake! We saved her from the claws of that vermin, Connor! Good riddance if I do say so myself. I was a hundred percent certain that he was responsible for putting the foolish idea into her head.
I shook with rage at the thought of it. That bastard! We should have killed him. But wherever he disappeared to, it would do him a lot of good to stay there, because nothing would stop us from teaching him a lesson if he ever came back.
I turned back to Liya who was still intensely shoving Hunter away, her eyes brimming with tears. I didn't get it. She should be grateful, for all I knew. So why the repugnance towards us?
