Gunter's POV
For the second time since we insisted on Liya's discharge from the hospital and helped her into the car, I glanced back at her. The pain my wolf was feeling radiated through my entire being as I shut my eyes tightly, angrily. I was worried, yes. But even more so, I was pissed.
Pissed that she would not let us even an inch close to her without bursting into tears and screaming at us to get away. Even as we sat in the car together, with Hunter driving us back home on Father's orders, Liya had not uttered a single word. Ryder had apologized yet again, but trying to talk to her was a pointless feat. She sat curled up in the corner of the back seat, keeping a very far distance away from me.
Despite all our attempts, Liya would not budge. Normally I would not have given two fucks about her, if she was willing to speak or not. But since my wolf recognised her scent as my mate, things were different. I was so drawn to her I could barely contain myself.
