“ What makes you think I will help you? ” Valerie rolled her eyes, sitting opposite me in the cafe.
I sighed, running my forefinger along the rim of the coffee mug in my palms.
“ Look, Valerie. ” I looked into her eyes. “ You understand you betrayed me first, right? ”
She narrowed her eyes on me. Her lips parted.
Before she could speak up, I uttered. “ I know you thought it was for the best. But still, I was your friend. I expected you to be more honest and open with me. I am not saying that your actions were against me…what I am saying is…you broke the friendship code. I understand that was something you believed you had to do. I do really. ”
“ That gives you the right to push me into a ditch? ” She huffed, folding her arms over her chest.
