Without saying a word Damien turned them around and walked to the middle-aged man in a three-piece suit casually leaning against the bar and smiling at them broadly. Despite being raised in the thick of politics and games, this scene was unfamiliar to Ada. She intertwined her arm around his which made him look down at her concern on his face. She gave him a resolute nod and they continued. Spines straight, faces disinterested, steps confident. Everyone was partially aware of their presence, most watched Ada’s shapely legs striding effortlessly on extremely high heels, others watched the casual power in Damien’s shoulders and the way his arm snaked around her waist fingers curling possessively.
“Alpha Damien, Alpha Ada, please join me for a drink,” the man said cheerfully.
