I followed the messenger out of the room, Jessica by my side. We walked in silence. I could already guess what this meeting would be about. When I stole glances at Jessica, I noticed her fear as well. It seemed like she also had it figured out. Yet, none of us said anything about it. I could not believe that I had been reduced to this.
