JONATHAN Point of View
"You all can leave now," he announced as he turned away from us. I took a deep breath, trying to reason with Alpha Jamel. "Please, Jamel, let me speak to Ryder. I need to know what happened." Alpha Jamel's face darkened, his eyes blazing with anger. "I will not allow it," he growled. "Whatever you want to say to him, you can say to me. I'll make sure my men pass on the message." I shook my head, feeling a sense of urgency. "No, I need to speak to him myself. It's crucial. I don't know but, please just let me see him." Alpha Jamel's expression turned incredulous. "You're pushing your luck, Jonathan." Jay stepped forward, trying to intervene. "Jamel, perhaps—" But Alpha Jamel cut him off with a raised tone and a cold expression. "Stay out of this, Jay.
