I tossed my keys on the console, loosened my tie, and walked into the silence that greeted me as I entered my home . The loft was neat, the kind of clean that felt too neat rather than lived in.
I had all the space in the world, but none of it felt full.
I poured a drink for myself, bourbon, neat, and settled on the edge of the couch. I didn’t bother turning on the TV or music. It would have been noise for Pete's sake.
