OLIVIA’S POV
For the first time in what felt like forever, the day had passed peacefully.
Despite everything that had happened—the accusations, the suffering, the endless humiliation—there had been no new torment awaiting me today. No cold glares from the pack, no sharp words from Dominic, no forced interactions with Evelyn.
And I relished the quiet.
Evelyn had spent most of the day flaunting her relationship with Dominic, making sure I noticed every lingering glance, every affectionate touch, every whispered conversation. But I had long since stopped reacting to her provocations. Her words, her opinions, her existence—none of it mattered to me anymore.
And, perhaps to her dismay, Dominic hadn’t visited me all day either.
His absence seemed to frustrate her just as much as it relieved me. Without him near me, Evelyn had less reason to come either, leaving me to finally enjoy my own company without being subjected to her deceitful sweetness.
By the time the sun dipped below the horizon
