Emma’s POV
Both Sebastian and the doctor’s eyes fell on the letters at the top of the document, Divorce agreement.
Everywhere became tense as they both read the document. The doctor cleared his throat, his face a mix of discomfort and pity, like he’d walked into a drama he desperately wanted no part of.
“Sir, I’ve done what I need to do here. You two can carry on,” he said stiffly, his voice polite but rushed. He didn’t even meet my eyes as he edged toward the door. I couldn’t blame him. Who’d want to stick around for this?
The silence that followed after the doctor left was suffocating and unbearable. Sebastian didn’t say anything at first; he just stood there, still staring at the document in his hands.
His jaw tightened, and his eyes…God, those eyes I used to get lost in, shifted to me, filled with something I couldn’t quite place.
Finally, he spoke, his voice low. “I won’t sign it.”
