Honestly, I almost laughed at myself—creeping through the hallway like some petty thief, careful not to let my heels echo too loudly, as if I didn’t have every right to be here.
This was Sebastian’s office. And I was Sebastian’s woman.
I reached for the safe, slid the tool in, and turned. A beep, a click—done.
The door swung open just as I turned, Cora's eyes wide, her lips parted in surprise. She stood frozen in the doorway for a moment.

I straightened up, standing tall, a smug smile playing at the corner of my lips. I didn’t even flinch.
"What does it look like I’m doing?" I asked, as if the answer was as simple as breathing. I swung my bag over my shoulder casually, keeping my eyes locked on her, unbothered. "I’m securing what’s mine, Cora. Please."
