"My Lord,I am here to heed your call" Laura dropped on a knee. She bowed her head.
The Devil turned to face her.
"Stand up my daughter, my heiress" he smiled. "On your feet" he ordered strictly.
Laura rose to her feet with her head still bowed. She obviously didn't want to look into her father's eyes.
"Thirteen had completed his mission. He is now where we want him. Do you now understand why I didn't give him the tonic? Huh?" the Devil smiled victoriously.
Laura had complained many times that her father was giving him special treatment.
There was a tonic that the Devil used to give all his subjects. It subjugated them to do his will. They would not willingly go against him once they took it.
Laura nodded. She must be realizing now. Her father really had a different plan for him as he had said.
"I know that site is being watched. The tonic wouldn't let him cooperate with them" he explained to her better.
