Eleanor's POV
I placed my shopping bag next to my feet and held on to the door handle for support.
I was lost looking at people's reflections from the glass panel of the taxi. Everyone was different yet familiar.
As I was staring blankly at my reflection, my mind flashed back to what my colleagues said the other day.
She is my mother, whom I haven't seen for ten years. Suddenly, she reappeared, I never expected to meet her this way.
I never wanted to see her again after the way things ended between us.
I remembered how she treated me while growing up. I would swear she doesn't have any iota of love inside her heart, but the way she protected Zoe back there made me overwhelmed with sadness.
I clutched my hand tightly around the door handle, and my knuckles and fingertips turned white.
