Eden still hasn't released my hand. Her touch is so rare that I store this moment in my mind and label it 'fragile'. As we walk hand-in-hand, my panicking heart flutters in my chest. I can't lose her today, and I won't stay back if she needs my help. That isn't my character.
We come to a stop when we hear cautious footsteps behind us. When we turn around, we see me in my lycan form. I remember how I felt that day- determined, annoyed by the bugs, and scalding myself for not bringing clothes. I remove my t-shirt because I have a camisole underneath it and give Eden a small smile before addressing my past self.
"Please shift and put this on. We don't have much time, and there are things you need to know." I sense the hesitation, but she shifts into her human form. Confusion takes over her face, as I knew it would, so I continue as she slips on the t-shirt.
