Chelsey's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Lucas' name.
She didn't have much of a reaction, though. She simply lowered her head and sipped her tea.
However, Dianne knew that Lucas was Chelsey's ex-husband. She reached out to grip Chelsey's hand, wearing a worried expression.
At Dianne's touch, Chelsey raised her eyes and locked gazes. She smiled to signal to Dianne that she was fine and that there was no need to worry.
Lucas was nothing but the past to her now. It didn't matter if he were to go on blind dates or remarry. It was no longer any of her concerns.
Just then, Shirley said, "I know some people from his family, but they don't talk to him a lot. I'm afraid I won't be able to ask around much."
Cassie was confused.
"Why don't they interact with him much? Did something happen?"
Shirley cleared her throat.
"The ones I know are related to the second wife of Lucas' father. They aren't that close to Lucas, and to be frank, things aren't good between them."
