"I don't know. What did his grandmother say?" Chelsey inquired.
Her intuition told her that since Lucas had asked such a question, Timothy's grandmother's last words must have had something to do with her.
Lucas pursed his lips.
He hesitated momentarily before replying, "You should ask him yourself."
Chelsey was speechless at his response. There was no difference between answering her question and not saying anything.
Lucas' words left her in suspense.
Chelsey cast a puzzled glance at Lucas.
He forced a smile and explained, "I simply think he should tell you. I don't want to interfere with your relationship."
If she had not heard it with her own ears, Chelsey would not have believed Lucas would say such pretentious things.
Chelsey ignored him and picked up her phone before heading outside to give Timothy a call. She wanted to comfort him.
In no time, the call connected.
Timothy spoke with composure. He sounded as calm as the night before the storm.
