Isabella sank back into the soft cushion and enjoyed the ride as they rose into the air. Taking a deep breath to centre herself, she closed her eyes firmly and tried to digest the flurry of emotions that had consumed her in the chaotic hours before. Adrenaline and confusion rushed through her veins as she mentally relived the tumultuous events in an attempt to find some clarity amid the raging tempest of ideas. Her parents were still alive in spite of everything, and they were now flying high over dangerous terrain, speeding towards an unclear and dangerous future. Xander had somehow located her.
