Scarlet POV
I return back to my room in the girls hostel and finally decide to take out my phone from my pocket after running all day, till it almost runs down my battery.
It's my mom who has been calling and I finally decide to speak to her now.
I return her call as it ring for nanosecond before she picks up. “ My God Scarlet.” She breathe.
“ Hello mom?” I calm myself to reply her.
“ God, have been so worried sick about you. I was scared something would happen to you that night. How could you leave that late? I know you were pissed at me but couldn’t you just get to your room and even lock up yourself than to risk your life in the wild wood?” I listen to her patiently as she yells at me, and I understand that even though I’m still fucking mad at her she is still my mom and she cares so much about me.
“ I’m sorry.” It’s all I say until she breaks down into a loud cry and I know that it’s not just me. Kyle probably left her that night.
