Luna's POV
The café smells like cinnamon and freshly baked bread, but I barely notice. My heart still feels heavy, and my head won't stop spinning. I spot Cassie before she sees me—she's sitting in a corner near the window, her eyes wandering around as she searches for something or someone.
As soon as our eyes meet, she jumps up, strides toward me, and pulls me into a hug. A hug so tight it almost knocks the air out of me. I don't even mind. Her arms feel safe and warm. It's what I exactly needs right now.
"I'm so, so sorry," she says softly into my ear. "About everything. I didn't know this would happen—I wouldn't have let you go. Truly, I'm sorry."
