Kiara’s POV
I walked in on men dressed in uniforms standing before Ryder. Ryder had mentioned bringing in men who would protect the manor, but I did not expect it to be highly decorated men. I thought a group of onegas would be the ones to handle this.
I watched as they obeyed him, listening to him attentively, and nodding in unison.
Ryder saw me standing at the corner and invited me to come into the sitting room where he was sitting and where the men stood before him— men who I discovered were luitenants as I walked in.
I noticed their hesitancy, how all four of them looked at me when I sat close to Ryder. They had the same look as the elders when I appeared twice before them.
“She is who you are to protect. Your services are to be rendered to her as her safety comes first in this household,” Ryder said to them and they nodded without uttering any words.
“You all know what positions you are to take in the manor. You can return to your duty posts,” Ryder added and they off
