Lucian's Pov
"I'm all set," DeLuna announced as we made our way into my grand mansion.
I shot her a glance, noting the unusual joy her tone carried. Something about her demeanor was different, too different.
"Okay, that's good," I responded, stepping further into my mansion.
"Hope this will work," I asked, noticing her unusually happy demeanor.
"It sure will, Lucian," she responded with a certainty that reassured me.
I nodded slowly, turning to Travis, who watched silently, motioning for him to come along with me.
Just as we were about to leave, DeLuna's voice cut through the air.
"Travis," she called out, her voice sweet.
Travis hesitated before responding. "Yes?"
"Thank you for the drink earlier," she said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her pointed ear. Her movement was smooth and delicate. It almost felt rehearsed.
A little flush crept onto Travis's face, and he gave a small, bashful smile. "Oh... uh, it's nothing," he murmured before quickly turning to follow me.
