Lilith walked beside Leon with wobbly legs. She had walked from the temple to the Palace barefeet and her legs hurt so bad she nearly had a bruise.
But she knew she had no right to stop. If she valued her bruised body enough, she wouldn't be attracting more bruises to herself.
Once her feet hit the marble floors of the palace, she closed her eyes and sighed in relief before working her feet on the smooth floors.
"Wait here," Leon commanded and she stood there, just as he had told her. She wondered why he asked her to wait. Was there something wrong?
He went into the palace and she heard voices come from within the room. It soon turned to a commotion but she did not dare move from that spot. With the way she was hated by all, moving and going in there might cost her her life and she wasn't ready to lose it. It didn't matter if she always talked about losing her life.
