Damian stormed off leaving Leah shock to the core.
“Nothing for now.”
His words echoed in her mind. What could he possibly mean by that? Will his presence heighten her risk of surviving in this house?
She rubbed her arms together suddenly feeling cold despite the fact that it was scorching hot.
“Leah?”
She let out a sharp gasp and glanced over her shoulder. It was Alex.
“Ugh.” She sighed then mumbled to herself. “Universe, one crazy brother at a time, please.”
Alex picked up on what she said and moved closer, locking his eyes into hers.“Wait, was Damian here?”
Leah averted her gaze and rubbed her elbow. “I wouldn't know, I just got here.”
“You're lying, and that only means one thing, he said something serious to you.”
“Well what if he did?”
Alex's jaw tightened. “Then I demand to know, now tell me.”
“Why do you care?”
“Listen.” His voice was low and serious. “Damian isn't someone you tread lightly with. He calculates and tests people if he approached you, then trust me, it wasn't cas
