I sat on the floor, back against the wall as the sentry spoke, every word unwinding the twisting past life of Lucean and Ryker and when the sentry stopped speaking all I could do reckon.
So much I had not known, so much I still sought for confirmation but only from Lucean’s lips.
“You see princess… there’s a lot even your own father had kept from you.”
Totally ignoring the sentries voice I pushed to my feet, the light from the small cellars window had dimmed significantly indicating it was about the nineteenth hour of the day. I turned away from the sentry, making for the main doors.
“Wait, how about what we promised? You said you’d free me if I told you what I knew!” He said to me, slamming his fist against the cell bars.
Pausing on my track, my eyes looked him over my shoulder. “No, I said I’d consider it… I’m still considering it…”
